Résumé
L'analyse de l'espace urbain à travers le réseau viaire est d'autant plus d’actualité que la fluidité routière et la mobilité humaine constituent un défi de gouvernance urbaine. Afin de montrer la contribution du réseau de voirie dans le processus de structuration de l’espace urbain, une étude a été menée dans le district métropolitain abidjanais. Une recherche documentaire et une observation de terrain ont permis d’apprécier la question. En effet, plus d’un demi-siècle après l’indépendance du pays, le réseau viaire abidjanais a connu une réelle évolution en lien avec la croissance de la structure urbaine. Son impact sur la structure de l’espace urbain s’apprécie dans le bâti, la trame urbaine, les déplacements pendulaires, l’éclatement et la restructuration des quartiers de la ville. Les désagréments observés dans le fonctionnement de l’espace urbain sont en partie liés à la pression démographique et à la surcharge du trafic sur le réseau viaire.
Abstract
The analysis of the urban space through the road network is all the more topical since traffic flow and human mobility constitute a challenge to urban governance. To show the contribution of the network of roadway system in the process of structuring of the urban space in Abidjan, an investigation has been led in metropolitan district of Abidjan, on effects of the network of roadway system led in the structuring of the urban space in Abidjan. An historic reconstitution through the direct observation has been ley and an investigation made. Indeed, more than half a century, after the independence, Abidjan network of roadway system knew a real dynamic in connection with the growth of the urban structure of metropolitan space of Abidjan. Its impact on the structure of the urban space is appreciated in the built environment, the urban fabric, commuting, the fragmentation and the restructuring of city’s neighborhoods. The inconveniences noticed in the functioning of the urban space are partly due to the demographic pressure on the road network.
